myBread iPhone app

Like the smell of fresh bread? So do we, and our breadmaker does overtime. We also thought that a little breadmaking app for the iPhone would make all the difference. Next time we go shopping we’ll have all the ingredients handy for that special loaf. Setting the timer delay is also a breeze because the app will calculate it for you. No more headaches doing this late at night! Enjoy!

How can I improve my bread?

Different flours absorb water differently and other factors such as humidity can also affect the end result.

To improve your bread, check the consistency of the dough just before the kneading cycle has finished. The dough should be slightly wet and sticky. However, it should not stick to your fingers when pinched. If it is too dry, add a tablespoon of water. If it is too wet, add some flour. Adjust your recipe in myBread accordingly.

Have you discovered the timer?

Just set the time by which you want the bread to be finished and myBread does the rest.

Next time, myBread will have remembered your last setting so no need to set the same time again if you, like me, make bread everyday to be ready in the morning.

Using the timer also makes sure that you actually will have a bread in the morning rather than having to rush over to the local store to buy one of their, sticky, not so tasty , well what shall we call it, bread?

I personally have been making bread for more than 5 years and got completely addicted to it. I have worn out one bread machine (too cheap) and am now on my second which is used everyday!

The smell of fresh bread in the morning is fantastic but the taste also beats many breads you can buy in the supermarket. I also know what went into the bread which is also important.

Another reason for doing your own is the wide range of breads that you can actually bake yourself. I discovered this when I started looking for interesting recipes to include in myBread and the choice is absolutely endless. I came across many good recipes that you will never find in a supermarket or even bakery.

We believe that the smartest things are the most obvious ones. Those things of which one says, yes of course how else could it have been done? Actually a bit like sliced bread!

Making things obvious is not easy. It requires years of experience in user-centred design and consumer insights. Moreover, there is no replacement for testing as we found when the screen saver kicked in just when we had sticky buttery hands. Switching the screen saver off is obvious, but thinking of it, not really.
